Our Team
For the Liberal Democrats, local government is key – localism, community politics, and a real commitment to devolved power are all hallmarks of the Liberal Democrat approach. We pride ourselves on working hard “all year round, not just at election time”!
MPs
Members of Parliament (MPs) are elected to represent a constituency. They can help put people in touch with the right contact and move things along on a larger scale. With the recent electoral boundary changes, we are in a new seat called Melksham and Devizes.
Our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) is Dr Brian Mathew.
Wiltshire Councillors
Wiltshire Council is responsible for more than 300 services, from adult social care, to looked-after children, highways maintenance and planning. Therefore it is crucial to have councillors that act as a link between residents and the council, in order to best represent the public when shaping policies and practices.

Town and Parish Councillors
This is the most local tier of governance. Town and Parish Councillors are elected and can help on a number of local issues, like providing:
- allotments
- public clocks
- bus shelters
- community centres
- play areas and play equipment
- grants to help local organisations
- consultation on neighbourhood planning
